American Werewolf And 28 weeks later-

American Werewolf And 28 weeks later-
The different ways in which the films portray themselves as horror.

Both of the films are of horror genre but start in different ways. In some cases they have similarities. The main characters are involved in something at the beginning and the rest of the film usually takes place in the starting scene. In American Werewolf the two main characters are dropped off in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. This is the same setting where the rest of the film is based. The same theme of isolationism is shown in the start of 28 weeks later where you see a usually busy city isolated and trashed with the protagonist stood in the centre.
American werewolf starts in quite a calm area and nothing seems to be wrong in the opening sequence. Whereas in 28 weeks later you are shown inside the laboratory full of crazy apes and the city has already been trashed so as an audience you know that something is going to and already has partly gone wrong. The music in both sequences is very different. American Werewolf the music starts off very calm in a foggy bleak mountain area with a long empty road this gives the impression that the protagonists may be isolated but in fact are not alone. However in 28 weeks later the music is very tense, it is a very well known piece of music and is known to be very scary and build a lot of tension.
